Colonel (AAC) David Hill

Colonel (AAC) David Hill joined the Royal Australian Air Force in 1990, graduating from the School of Technical Training in 1992. He was assigned to 486 Squadron and served as a metal machinist and ground fitter.

He then served in workshop appointments within 503 Wing. In 1996 he transferred to the Royal Australian Air Force Reserve where he served until 2001.

In 2005, he joined the Australian Army Cadets and in 2007 was appointed to the position of Officer Commanding 624 Platoon Tasmania Australian Army Cadets Battalion with the rank of Lieutenant (AAC).

In 2009 he was promoted to the rank of Captain (AAC) and appointed to the position of Second in Command of A Company Tasmania Australian Army Cadets Battalion. He was promoted to Major (AAC) and assumed command of A Company in 2011.

He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel (AAC) and appointed as Assistant Commander Tasmania Australian Army Cadets Battalion in mid-2016.

Colonel (AAC) David Hill was selected to the position of National Assistant Commander in July 2019.

Colonel (AAC) David Hill’s hobbies include hiking and mountain bike endurance racing.
He is married to Kathrine and they have two adult children.
