In late 2021, Tessa was selected as the National Cadet Adjutant, and assumed the position at the start of 2022.
As the National Cadet Training Officer, along with the National Cadet Under Officer, National Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major and National Cadet Training Officer, RCUO Tessa Zangalis will endeavour to make cadets accessible to each individual youth member, from recruits to NCOs, by acting as the point of contact between national AAC HQ and individual units. She will ensure that the exceptional quality of the policies and traditions within the Australian Army Cadets are sustained whilst working to facilitate the implementation of the new Cadet Development Continuum and personal initiatives.
